Forum: etree Subject: Nomad Jukebox 3 / DAT transfer question

A friend just lent me his Nomad Jukebox 3 and an Edirol UA-5 for the purpose of transferring some DAT recordings. I'm attempting to come out of my DAT deck with a coax digital into the Edirol, and then out with the optical into the Nomad. The Nomad does not seem to recognize the 48khz signal. There does not seem to be any visual indication on the Nomad of the sample rate detected on the incoming connection. I was able to confirm using headphones that all of my digital cables are working, and the Nomad does pick up a 44.1 signal via optical from the Edirol. So it seems I need to do something different on the jukebox, perhaps a firmware upgrade to get it to recognize 48khz rate. I see many tape lineages here and on etree that seem to indicate it is possible to record 48khz optical in with the Nomad. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks!

you might want to post this question on taperssection. My guess is that you can't use the UA5 to convert from coax digital to optical... but I've never tried it, so I can't be sure if there's another issue.

Nomad Jukebox is only going to support 44.1 even though the Eridol will support I think up to 96Khz .... N E way if your looking for some free ware or shareware Wave-Editors and Mastering Wav. Apps, drop me a line.
